BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support is ideal for individuals who work in the health sector.

This qualification gives learners the opportunity to develop wider sector-related knowledge to underpin occupational competence in a senior healthcare worker role. You may be specialising in one of the following six areas: adult support worker, theatre support worker, mental health support worker, maternity support worker, children and young people support worker, allied health (therapy) support worker.

Throughout this qualification you will develop and enhance technical sector-related knowledge and skills to underpin occupational competence in your own role, for example administering medication, supporting individuals with speech and language disorders, performing non-scrubbed circulating roles for perioperative procedures, obtaining venous blood samples, supporting pre and post-operative anaesthesia and recovery, supporting individuals to manage their own recovery from mental health problems.  You will develop a positive approach to codes of practice and develop professional behaviours such as effective communication and building relationships, delivering training through demonstration and instruction, promote positive behaviour, promote personal development.

The Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support:

Enables you to achieve a nationally recognised Level 3 qualification and to develop the technical skills, role-related knowledge and understanding and behaviours required to progress into job roles such as Healthcare Assistant Practitioner, Nursing Associate and Registered Nurse.
